FINE ART GALLERY OPENING IN DOWNTOWN CARLETON PLACE ON THURSDAY, AUGUST 24TH, 2023
210 Bridge Street in downtown Carleton Place, Ontario, will be the new home of the Carleton Place Gallery, an art gallery owned and operated by local fine artists and featuring over 20 other local and regional artists and artisans on a rotating basis.
The opening will kick off with an official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at 10:00 a.m. and the gallery will remain open until 7pm on Thursday, August 24th.
Carleton Place Mayor Toby Randell, other Town Council members, CP Chamber of Commerce representatives and the town’s Business Improvement Association members will be on hand for the opening.
This beautiful riverside retail space located on the newly overhauled main street of this “fastest growing town in Canada” will not only feature the artwork of the founding gallerists, Ginny Fobert, Colleen Gray, Pamela Stewart and Gillian Marston, but display a carefully curated selection of wall art, sculpture, functional art and jewelry all created by local and Ottawa-area artists and artisans.
With a clear emphasis on community and supporting local, Carleton Place Gallery offers affordable showcase options and promotional support while helping the artists build their names and reputation in the industry. Carleton Place Gallery will also, as soon as this Fall, expand into an attached space to offer a workshop-studio on a low-cost hourly rental basis, that the public and artists may access as a creative space for projects, lessons and much more.
Of particular note the gallery will also feature Art for Aid Shop’s beautiful fine art products. Art for Aid is a Governor General of Canada recognized Indigenous youth support program. It is a volunteer run, grassroots project that has been providing access to quality art learning tools to Indigenous youth for over a decade.
“We knew there was exceptional talent in this region and now we get to not only showcase it in a beautiful and professional space, but do so knowing we are supporting them and participating in this vibrant renovated downtown area. We are thrilled that we are seeing this dream come to fruition and excited to welcome everyone on August 24th,” – Pamela Stewart, gallerist at Carleton Place Gallery
