WHAT IS THE YOUTH COMMITTEE
The Beckwith Township Youth Committee is a group of young children and teens with a common goal of bettering the Community by raising money to be distributed to others and put on Community events with an emphasis on FUN. By doing this the children gain leadership, parliamentary procedure skills and self-confidence. The Youth Committee holds monthly dances, a March Melt Down Winter Carnival, helps out with the Halloween Party, the Beckwith Heritage Days, buys gifts for the Angel tree children, Tree Planting and Courses for Youth such as Babysitters Course, Home Alone Coures, Cooking Course along with many more activities for the children in the community.

Looking for a placement for your 40 hours of Volunteer work? There are many events and activities you could help out with throughout the community. Call Beckwith Recreation Department at the Beckwith Township Office at 613-257-1539 or email cmcgregor@twp.beckwith.on.ca.
PAST SPONSORSHIPS
Each year the BYC sponsors children to attend the Beckwith Day/Sports Camp helped the Girl Guides raise money for their trip to the Yukon by allowing them to run the canteen at the March Melt Down helped the scouts raise $1000.00 by allowing them to supervise two of the Beckwith Youth Dances in exchange for the profit.
Every year the Committee buys a Christmas present for 4 names on the O.P.P. Angel Tree

Sponsored a youth from the community to participate in the “Tall Ship Millennium Challenge”
Sponsored Local Sports Teams to attend the Provincial Championships
Raised money to help off-set cost of the new playground structure at Beckwith Park
