On April 8, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM, parts of Leeds & Grenville will experience a total solar eclipse. All other areas of Leeds, Grenville & Lanark will experience a partial solar eclipse. During an eclipse, the Moon passes in front of the Sun (completely or partially) blocking the sun and casting a shadow on the Earth’s surface. This event will affect daylight. Looking at the Sun with your naked eyes during the eclipse could burn your retinas, blur your vision or cause you to lose your eyesight. The only safe way to view the eclipse is with glasses that are ISO-certified and meet the ISO 12312-2 international safety standard.

Fundraiser for the Carleton Place and District Memorial Hospital Emergency Campaign.
Held December 30th, 2023 at the Beckwith Recreation Complex
We’re excited to share the success of our Charity Cornhole Tournament held in collaboration with the Lanark County Cornhole League. The event was a fundraiser for the Carleton Place and District Memorial Hospital Emergency Campaign.
The tournament, featuring 45 teams in a round-robin format, raised an impressive $3,236.61. The Lanark County Cornhole League provided all of the necessary equipment to make this event possible. A special shout-out to Cavanagh Construction for their gracious donation of prizes!
To add to the fun, we hosted a chili cook-off; Kent Blackburn, Faye Campbell and Lori Cavanagh brought together flavours and friendly competition off the cornhole boards. A round of applause to Kent Blackburn for securing first place in the cook-off!
It was a great day, and we look forward to next year’s event; stay tuned for details!
Thank you to everyone who contributed to this event’s success—your support has made a meaningful impact on the Carleton Place and District Memorial Hospital’s Emergency Campaign.
